Culinary Experiments : Soup for the Soul - Tomato Carrot Soup Recipe
TOMATO - CARROT SOUP
With the pandemic impacting us heavily and with a lockdown in place - I will be putting up a series of easy to prepare recipes for those insane hunger pangs sitting at home.π
RECIPE WITH STEP BY STEP PICTURES:
In a pressure cooker - add about 1 teaspoon of oil. Add all the ingredients in it - saute for about 1-2 minutes.
Now add 2 cups of water into it - and allow it pressure cook for 2-3 whistles.

Once it has cooled down - with a hand blender puree it.
You would need to strain it using a strainer.
In a heated pan, transfer the pureed strained contents - simmer for about 5-6 minutes. The consistency was thick, so I added 1 cup of water - added a dollop of butter and garnished with coriander leaves and freshly ground, black pepper powder.
Relish the home made fresh soup!π₯£
INGREDIENTS:
- 1 Teaspoon oil
- 1 Onion diced
- An inch of ginger
- 4 Garlic Cloves
- 3 Tomatoes Diced
- 4 Black Pepper Corn
- Few Cardamom Seeds
- 1 Carrot Diced
- 1 Chili
- 1 Teaspoon Chili powder
- Pinch of turmeric powder(optional)
