Gluttony Diaries : Thalassa , Vagator - Goa

Thalassa is a piece of heaven you must experience - food combined with a scenic view - EPIC!! πŸ’•

If you are in Goa, never miss a chance to visit this place. The place calls for a reservation, if you are hitting during the busy hours of the evening.

We were here for an early lunch and that luckily did not require a reservation plus we were given the table with the best view. πŸ’§

As we entered the restaurant, we were totally smitten by the breeze and the view.

All that one would want to do is, sit in the chair, relax and just sink in the endless horizons of the Arabian sea. Overlooking the restaurant is also the Small Vagator Beach, where you can find a dozen of people busy water sporting or just sun bathing! 😍
Location, food, ambiance, hospitality - definitely makes it a perfect romantic date worthy setting. πŸ‘Œ

We were totally overdrawn by the view and the mystic white setup of the restaurant. It is sure enough to transport you to the picturesque Greek lands with its whitewashed walls, cane furniture, terrazzo flooring  and blue touch up.

Enjoy a bit of Greek in Goa. 😁

Thalassa specialises in Greek and Mediterranean cuisines.

Glancing through the menu - I wouldn't deny, we were slightly confused what to head start with. The VARIETY OF OLIVES seemed interesting.
But what came was something that was beyond our understandability id of what to make of the dish. Really?!
A hot bread served with an oil dip with an assortment of black and green olives and not to forget the garlic. Surprised, we dived straight for the olives. This didn't suit out appetite at all we had a good laugh about the dish.
Although not a good start - I hadn't lost hopes yet - and man was I right?! 😏

We dug to the non-veggies in the menu, ordered for the  GRILLED PRAWNS SKEWERS. Served on skewers were the super delicate, well-marinated prawns with a dash the spicy red sauce and fresh feta cheese. Mind blowing.
The STUFFED BONELESS CHICKEN were juicy chicken breast pieces loaded with super soft fresh feta cheese topped with exotic vegetables and a delicious gravy. This was served with a handful of french fries.
It was really filling albeit my heart was set on the cheesy tangy gravy. It was magical and enriching, added flavor to the grilled chicken and pushed you to go for that one last bite always.
The stellar dish of the evening, hands down was the MIXED CHOCOLATE CHEESECAKE. Served on a bed of biscuit bread, were these thick goey layers of white and chocolate cheesecake, dazzled with coconut shavings.
The density of the cake was satisfying - it was that fulfilling sort of cake, which would not make you urge for more but just want you relish the taste, satisfy your taste buds and let the taste linger.
One of the best cheesecakes I have had.
A small piece of beauty with so much to offer!
