Gluttony Events : Faasos, Wagholi - Pune
This was an tasting invite extended by Jyoti for the Fassos Navratri Special Meals. 😊
Being able to eat out during the festive season owing to the fasts and various food restrictions is difficult - but this has been made utterly easy by Faasos with the introduction of their Navratri special meals.
The Navratri Special Meals are made with adherence to the fasting rules and spread the joy of eating.
I had opted for the PANEER MAKHANWALA ROYAL NAVRATRI MEAL - and boy it was really delicious and super filling.
A wholesome box consisting of a variety of dishes - SINGHADA ALOO PARATHA, SABUDANA WADA, TAMATAR KI SABJI , PANEER MAKHANWALA, SABUDANA KHEER.
I dug on the platter to first try the SINGHADA ALOO PARATHA - full of fibre non fat, this one was no different from the regular aloo paratha - with minimal taste difference. Traditionally that's singhada aloo is the upvas main khaya hua aloo. The paratha, to my surprise was less oily and tasted really good.
PANEER MAKHANWALA - mildly sweet and spicy with a tomato-licious gravy - loved the gravy. It had subtle tastes of cashew nut gravy and ample amount of paneer cubes. It went perfect with the paratha.
SABUDANA WADA - crispy deep fried delicacy made of tapioca seeds, groundnuts and chilies. It had become slightly rubbery, but again the less oily part - kudos to have been able to keep even the wadas less oily.
TAMATAR KI SABJI - well this was the first time that I was having hare tamatar ki sabji - a concoction of sweet,tangy, spicy subzi with tampering done with curry leaves and kalunji seeds. It had a burst of flavors flowing in each nibble.
SABUDANA KHEER - tapoica pearls cooked in thick heavily sweetened milk, garnished with loads of dry fruits - it was the perfect dessert to the meal, melted smoothly in your mouth.
In all, I enjoyed the Special Meal - although I would say it is slightly pricey. 😊
