MY THOUGHTS:

The trailer had said it all - so frankly there was no surprise element in the story line of the movie. To an extent, for me the predictability did take away, the due credibility it deserved. πŸ‘€

Come to think about it, how easily we as kids were convinced that we were left on earth by some fairy godmother, isn't it?
Badhaai Ho is the movie to break that myth. However difficult and true it may seem, it shows parents in a way which is grueling for any child at any age to imagine. πŸ’¬Hysterical!

In a country like India, where the concept of love and relationship is an understated attribute of the youngsters, here is the movie which shows even the adults have the zeal to portray their love.
Love sees no age and has no bar , yet for some reason, love blossoming between older couples is always seen as a taboo - makes me wonder why? And this is irrespective of the marital status.
Doesn't everyone have the equal right to show and express love. πŸ’“

Set in Delhi, on a rainy day, the Kaushik couple is on a quest to spend some quality time with each other. Being an occasional poet, Mr. Kaushik who otherwise is a Railway collector, narrates a charming poem where Mrs. Kaushik is smitten head over heals.
Badhaai Ho is a story of a mid aged couple - parents to a 20+ son Nakul, another teenage son Gullar, and another on the way at this juncture.
It is the story of how the society reacts to the news, how their own children ridicule them and how only a woman is still blamed and taunted for becoming pregnant at this age.

The little gestures done by Jitendra for Priyamvada is a depiction, where in an age, marriages are falling out of love, but for some true love never dies - the Kaushik couple are the ones, who respect and love each other and importantly stand by each others decision. πŸ‘
There is a beautiful line said by Mr.Kaushik, when thoughts of giving off the child crosses their mind. Although it is strongly contested by Priyamvada aka Mrs.Kaushik, he says - "Dard bhi tera, faisla bhi tera". I wish every man supports his lady in every decision soundly. 😊

The movie is filled with funny moments and you wouldn't have a moment when you are not gripping your tummy laughing. "Doctor ne kahi ki, doctor ne kahi ki - mehman aane wala ghar main - chota mehman." But equally it brings to light the importance of accepting the way our relationships and families are built.

It is applaud able - how such a touchy topic has been gotten into limelight with a dose of laughter.

Ayusham Khurana as Nakul Kaushik fits into the role so comfortably like a makhhan - no denial there could have been no one who could have played this role better. His transition from being ashamed of his parents deeds, to standing by their decision and full heartedly accepting his sibling is beautifully put forward with comical and emotional hints.

Neena Gupta - in my head has always been that strong opinionated woman and suddenly seeing her in this pitiable situation made my heart go severely empathetic. With little dialogues, her facial expressions create the magic for one to sense her agony. Powerful performance! πŸ‘Œ
It is worth pondering as to why should she be ashamed?! 😏

Gajraj Rao - brilliant performance with impeccable humor timing. Artists like him, need to be promoted more. He is a joy to watch.

Sanya Malhotra as Renee Sharma, who portrays Nakul's love interest doesn't have a major role in the movie. But  I loved her outward thinking process.
When she breaks the news to her mom Sheeba Chaddha aka Sangeeta Sharma about Priyamvada expecting, her mom's expression goes from what, kaise and she slyly replies - 'jaise hota hai waise". 😝 Sheeba Chaddha is shown as a single sophisticated high class modern mom - who has given Renee all the independence.

Surekha Sikri - hands down as the grumpy deaf dadi and her comments - OMG - absolutely mind blowing! I would say, she is one of the major contributor in bringing life to the plot. 😊
The mixed relationship between her and Priyamvada, her and Mr.Kaushik aka Jeetendra is a family drama in itself - dadi's quirky dialogues are definite to watch out for. 😜

The best line from the movie is by Sheeba Chaddha, Renee's mom - "The family is a circus , I don't want to buy tickets to." and I think this statement is applicable to most of the families here!! πŸ˜›

Satire, emotion, the typical saas banters, the rishtedar ka tana , dialogues , no embarrassing scenes and the song "Badhaaiyan Tenu" - the dish has the perfect Indian tadka but with a foreseeable story line. 😻

Kudos to the team! 😊

Go watch it, to laugh out - something which we have buried in our daily lives.😜😝

Truly mummy papa ka mishap! 😜
