HISTORY:

The Nimmi -Shamba temple is dated more than 300 years old. Nimmisha in Kannada means one minute - and it is believed the Lord takes away and solves all your issues and woes in one minute. Amba is of course one of the names for Goddess Parvati !πŸ™

Hence, by now you must have figured out that Goddess Nimmi -Shamba is considered to be an incarnation of Goddess Parvati.😊
A small yet beautifully architecture-d temple which houses three Lords - Parvati, Shiva and Lakshminarayana. The idols are decorated heavily with garlands and the flowers.
Lord Parvati is offered Kumkum which is then distributed to the devotees.

All the statues are made in black stone which emits positive energy.

NIMMI-SHAMBHA TEMPLE:

The priests are really humble and they share some insights with the devotees visiting the temple. One of their priests was so humorous - that he was cracking everyone one with his small talks.

In case there is a crowd, you could join the special line for a charge of Rs.20.

If you want to do a puja - take a parchi of Rs.70 - which is inclusive of the prasadam - you wouldn't need to buy anything additionally.

Located on the banks of Kaveri - the aagan of the temple is really beautiful - immerse yourself by sitting in the lapse of God and nature, and enjoy the view.

During the monsoons there are rides offered in the dongris on the river. But around the time we ventured - there was very little water in the river and looked like there was some major construction work going on.

The temple tucked in a rural backdrop with narrow roads, green landscapes - is definitely a place to enjoy the serenity to the optimum.

The temple has carved a beautiful pathway to the river - high steps leading to the river. Although you could find lot of people bathing in the river - I believe some decorum needs to be maintained by the folks - given families and ladies are venturing here.

There is a small sabji mandi that is setup here selling fresh produce from the farms.

We had this fresh sugarcane juice for a price of Rs.20/-.

THE ROUTE:

This route had tolls -I don't remember exactly but approximately about Rs. 200 or so for both ways.

Our first stop for breakfast was at the A2B.

Post the hearty breakfast - we rode ahead with the typical Bangalore highway views - humongous mountains in the faraway land, green trees all through.

The route has lot many dining options. We settled for the Empire Restaurant. In fact there is a food court on the way - but sadly it hadn't opened up yet.

This one had a separate dining space for vegetarians and the food was at par. It was a value for money meal.

The VEG KADHAI and STUFFED PANEER KUCLHA was delicious. Given, I always have a hard time finding good North Indian food during these short trips - the food was bang on. The KUCLHAS stuffed with veggies - but it was little more maida-ish. πŸ˜”
The VEG KADHAI - vegge-licious, masalas and spicy-ness on the point.πŸ’“

Where there is pan - it is πŸ’‹.

Cheers to life!!
