Food anatomization : The bowl house, Amanora Mall - Pune

Had visited this place for dinner, right before going for a movie. I had never noticed this place on the fourth floor - maybe its location is its disadvantage, lying at one corner of the floor. It can be easily missed. :D

The bowl house, the name was quite intriguing which pushed me to try this place.
The place serves Chinese and Asian delicacies.

Their menu offers immense options in veg and non-veg dishes from soups, salads, sizzlers...

They have both indoor and alfresco seating arrangements.
The indoor dΓ©cor looked interesting - statue of Buddha added to the dΓ©cor. hey have a in-house bar which is in an interesting shape. It houses only may be around 10 tables.
The cool, breezy weather attributed us to opt for the alfresco seating - quite spacious and you enjoy your time hogging and gossiping away. :)
Totally enjoyed the ambiance.

For starters we ordered for the CHICKEN SATAY - tasted good, the chicken was nicely done. It was served with five pieces in the form of long flattened kebabs on wooden skewers along with sauces.
The MONGOLIAN CHICKEN KEBAB - kebab in Chinese cuisine, sounded interesting. It was served on a sizzler plate. Small succulent chicken pieces served with tooth picks on top. It aided to a certain amount of ease while eating. Sadly to mention I did not like the dish much. It didn't have the taste of kebab nor the distinct Chinese flavor. It was just chicken sautΓ© with some spices.

For the main course, we had the DRUNKEN SPICY NOODLES - Malaysian flat fried noodles with veggies and chicken - again an average dish. I had pinned high hopes on the noodles. It somehow tasted too bland to me.
Another side in the main course was the CHILLI GARLIC CHICKEN -a dish in gravy to go with the noodles.  We had carefully chosen this dish since every restaurant serving Chinese won’t fail on this but alas another disappointment, it was just about ok! :(
Then we had a stir fried delicacy that was the KUNG PAO CHICKEN  – the dish was really tasty, fried chicken cooked with all the tangy sauces and veggies, finally one tasty dish in the main course. Flawless :)

Coming to the service, service was prompt but clumsy.

In all a decent place for casual dinner.

Happened to visit this place again for a team lunch. We went in for the buffet lunch this time.

The buffet was indeed much-much better than the ala-carte items that I have had here.

For starters, they served with the CHICKEN MANCHOW SOUP WITH FRIED NOODLES.The soup was tasty.

Then we had the veg spring rolls, veg Manchurian, chicken wings, crispy veg, chicken wonton, chicken crispy fry.
The starters were all very yummy. Impressive! They tasted really good, except the veg Manchurian which was a bit oily.
By the time we finished the starters itself, we were pretty full. We had ample servings of starters.
To say, really after a long time - I had such tasty Chinese starters.
They served the starters on our table itself, which added to our convenience.

For main course, they had limited options only - chicken fried rice, veg noodles, chicken in szechwan sauce, paneer in black pepper, a dish in fish, and vegetables in holy basil sauce.
The main course was good - decent actually. I liked the paneer in black pepper more than any of the nonveg dishes on their buffet. But you can try all the dishes - worth it!

And for desserts they had the awesome ICE CREAM WITH HONEY NOODLES accompanied with chocolate sauce - it was wow - specially the honey combed noodles. I am in loss of words!! :)

For this visit of mine, I would rate it a 4.0.

This place serves buffet much better than the ala-carte items.

The service was also comparatively prompt and nice, and a lesser clumsy this time.
