Gluttony Diaries :BMG Unplugged, Amanora Mall - Pune

A fancy gastro pub - a newbie in Amanora Mall - BMG Unplugged.

Spread over a wide area with an alfresco seating plus a closed AC seating - the ambiance of the place is chic, the mosaic touch to the tables, pillars - really upped the decor. It had feel of both a bar and a cafe - loved the pretty cycle hung on the wall.
The ceilings were decoratively done and the lightings - my my, would love to visit once during the evenings to see the effect.😊

ADDRESS:

East Block, Amanora Shopping Mall
Near Starbucks, Hadapsar

As we were stepping up we noticed, they had setup places for 2 on the stairway - now that's a bummer.

Wonder how it would be to be seated like that - looking down or up on the other.

If you want to try fusion food and with a share of theatrics - BMG has couple of enthralling dishes to offer. πŸ˜‹

The PAO BHAJI FONDUE - a nice twist to the regular street food. Who could have imagined this in a fondue - the bhaji served in a pot over a small candle which when you sit outside would be out due to the breezy atmosphere.
The pav has been pieced into cubes and with your cutlery - one must dip into them into the bhaji platter and relish the street food. Since, the bread cubes were too light - as soon you would dip it in the bhaji, it would be lost in the bed of bhaji.
The bhaji could have been a tad bit more maseladar and spicy - the rough texture didn't entice me.
The STUFFED PANEER was hands down the best dish of the afternoon - impeccably soft taste tandoor spice and cheese imbibed paneer. It was served on a rustic grill which looked like a cargo and yeah this was the one which had the theatrics I was talking about - out of the blue it would just smoke out. For once, I did not mind cheese with paneer, the soft grated cheese atop and stuffed in each of the tandoor-ed paneer pieces were sauces grilled to perfection. It is a MUST TRY. πŸ‘Œ
The ADDICTIVE NACHOS was a let down I would say - not so addictive after all - couldn't justify its name how so ever. πŸ˜”
Oily, the nachos strips being too thin - salsa not dressed over them proportionately - only goodness was imparted by the cheese.
The STUFFED FRIED MUSHROOM with MEXICAN SALSA were not good as a combination but were individual contributors respectively. The crispy deep fried coating over the fried mushrooms were well attempted - simple.
The INDIAN STYLE BRUSCHETTA - served in a cute sandwich pan - were 5 pieces of bread with adorned with cheese and chopped veggies.πŸ˜‹
The CHILLI PANEER GHOSLA - when I had ordered it had completely let my sight lose on the ghosla part. The realization struck obviously when the dish was served on the table.
Served in fried katori made of fried manchow noodles - in it had the chili paneer cubes with loads of bell peppers and melted cheese atop.
The spicy sauce was a nice top up. An Indianised Chinese dish - not the exact Chinese flavors being imparted, but would give it for the innovation.πŸ˜‚

The MOCKTAILS seemed a straight concoction of Real Juices and Soda - not cool - rang barse magar swad nahin!! πŸ˜’
We opted for the MAKE YOUR PASTA - PENNE PASTA in red sauce with bell peppers, olives, sun dried tomatoes and broccoli - disaster - we had to return the dish - as most of the ingredients including the pasta were less than half baked even.
The SIZZLING BROWNIE saved the day - desserts must never disappoint. Served on a bigger sizzling plate than the usual dessert ones - a huge piece of chocolate brownie, a scoop of ice cream carefully balanced and then was drizzled the hot chocolate sauce - sizzzzzzleeeeeee!!
Well baked cake soft, right amount of sweetness - excellent TASTE I can conclude.
I had heard so much about their LIVE ICE CREAM - but unfortunately it was not available during the time we were here. 😒

This place is definitely not a 4.5 for me, although that's what pulled me to try the place.

Although the staff was courteous - seemed the day had a crunch in the number of servers - the umpteen number of times, we had to ask for a refill of water - Gaaaawd!!Laid back.
Still wasn't that much of a problem as the flies - nooooooooooo - you just can't do this - we were warding off flies in wee afternoon hours form our food - not cool.
A lesser rating because of the flies - without the flies also it was definitely not a 4.5.
But a genrous 3.5 for the innovation with the food, ambiance.
