Gluttony Events : Dikhawa Dhaba, NIBM - Pune

Clover Hills has been garnering a lot of attention with its newly added rooftop restaurants.

The Dikhawa Dhaba has lived up to its name - with the beautifully done interiors of the restaurant.

Mind you it is a pure vegetarian restaurant.πŸ’š

WHAT I TRIED:

Seated comfortably we started off with the DAHI DAL KE SHORBE - this was an unusual shorbe I have had. A consistent rich shorbe with a fusion of dal dahi with addition of loads of ghee. The taste of the finely chopped peanuts in every sip added to the zing. It was garnished with fresh coriander leaves.πŸ˜‹
The TOMATAR KA SHORBE was more on the spicy-peppery side - with the prominent usage of fresh tomato .πŸ˜…
The CHOLE KA CHAAT lacked the chatpata-ness of a typical chat - the chole and samosa could have had a slight mix of thikha, chatpata chutney added to it.It would have made up for the missing oomph in the chat.😢
KHADE MASALE KE PANEER TIKKA - fresh soft paneer which were tikka-ed with khade masale added to it - although I would have liked more usage of the masala and the marination being stronger.😷
DAHI KE KEBAB - was a pure let down. The hung curd-cottage cheese consistency had gotten messed up with the dahi being heavily sour.πŸ˜”
CHATPATA ALOO - a simple dish yet highly mouth watering and street food flavored imbibed. Crispy fried circular discs of potato with chatpata toppings. The taste of tamarind, crispiness made it so addictive.😜
PANEER TAJ KEBAB - with Mughlai flavors, this one had the paneer cubes charred well and on point.Flawless!
TANDOORI MALAI BROCCOLI - broccoli is a hot favorite among the health freaks and this was a nice fix for the vegetarians to eat something apart from paneer. Cream and cheese marinated and tandoor-ed fresh broccoli florets.πŸ˜†
KUMBH BHARWAN - these cheese stuffed tender mushrooms were good with the stuffing little sour but it had added a nice touch to the taste.
 DAL BAATI CHURMA - A famous Rajasthani delicacy - piping hot battis immersed in ghee with a bowl of dal and churma - this was well attempted. It came close to impress.
The GULAB JAMUNS were just out of the world - garnished with lot of dry fruits - each bite transported you to a different world - mystifying.
 PAN KULFI - with crushed pan leaves added to imbibe the true pan flavors- bang on! Tastefully done. πŸ’“

AMBIANCE:

A rooftop setting giving a view of the Pune hills - with outdoor and indoor seating area - it covers a sprawling space. The indoor seating is a fusion-ed interior with detailed usage of musical instruments, colorful wall murals - giving a vintage touch.

To give it a dhaba feel - the outdoor seating has sort of a thela feel - the names are funny. The check board flooring is 😍.

They also have a see through kitchen.

Currently, due to the monsoon the rooftop seating has been partially closed off.
