Food anatomization : Metway Grill, Hadapsar - Pune

Our actual plan of hogging at Guru Da Dhaba failed due to the place being fully booked for a party, searching a relatively good joint we dropped to the 10th Mile - Metway Grill. 😳

The restaurant has a huge space, lying just across the street - easily noticeable with its big restaurant hoarding put up at the entrance. There is a huge parking lot.

As we stepped inside, the nameplate of the restaurant had gone all rusty albeit provided a nice look - for sure rusty if not rustic! πŸ˜†

The restaurant offers two seating arrangements - open air seating arrangement which could accommodate a big group of people only - the seating arrangement was on a raised cement flooring surrounded by water on all sides and planted with water plants. Looked chic!
We opted for the inner seating arrangement, as one of the initial reviews on Zomato warned for not sitting outside for the heck of mosquitos. The inner seating arrangement gave more of a cafe seating feel with bright lights over the table, few books placed at the bookshelf, TV mounted and a bar counter with hanging light fixtures and 3 colorful wooden stools. Sadly it looked like the bar counter now served more as their billing and food arrangement counter. 😈 Nice ambiance - albeit they kept switching off the lights over the tables which were not occupied - don't know if they were trying to save electricity.

We ordered for an array of dishes for the vegetarian and the non-vegetarians in the group.
Started off with the crunchy masala papad garnished with chopped onions and tomato. Awesome.
CHICKEN TANDOORI - was done well but for some reason the sides were burnt intentionally, evident from the looks itself. Also the tandoor was a tad bit dry.The green chutney served in a cute small matka was damn spicy.
The CHICKEN TIKKA was tikka-ed chicken in a mix of Indian spices. Tasty when paired with the green chutney.
The PANEER CHILLY was lip smacking, but it was heavily spiced. The soft paneer cubes, bell peppers and onions were tossed to perfection in the Indo-Chinese chilli mix.
The HARA BHARA KEBAB - I was told it was good. It had immense number of peas and few slices of bell pepper used as garnishing. The amount of the peas were a huge turnoff for me.
Quickly ordered for the mains - which made us all conclude we were not so happy with the food served. The CHICKEN HANDI served had very few pieces of chicken for a price of over Rs.300/-. And I have never had chicken handi with bell peppers and onions - weird combination isn't it?!
For the vegetarian guys, mains was an order consisting of the VEG MARATHA and PANEER LABABDAR.
The major problem was the dishes in the mains had been cooked in similar spices and masalas mix - the extra effort was in placing the chicken, paneer or kofta in the respective dishes. The dishes tasted very similar. Had it tasted good, it wouldn't have hurt so much, also there was something very fishy with the masala used. It had subtle hints of bitterness and it really did not go well with any of us.

The service was good but a lot of time passed by in bringing the food to the table.
