Gluttony Events : Copper Chimney, Viman Nagar - Pune

Copper Chimney another biggie in the food genre has finally opened its branch in Pune - currently located at the 3rd floor in Phoenix Mall.

I was invited by Mr.Govind from Copper Chimney for the food tasting of the 'The Great Indian Kebab Festival' which is currently going on in Copper Chimney till the 25th February. I was hosted by Mr.Saurav the general manager of the restaurant who was a fabulous host and took utmost care of our table.

Opened in 1972, Copper Chimney specializes in delicacies from North India from Peshawar to Delhi. They live up to their themed line - Time inspired, coal fired and slow cooked over hours.

The rustic yellow-ish door is an eye catchy addition to the restaurant. They have a open kitchen which is visible to the guests - it gives you an insight to how tirelessly the chefs are working and leaving no stone un-turned to prepare the best dish to be served for the guests.

As you enter, you would be enthralled by the wooden themed decor - the bar to the right having shelves decorated with numerous glasses, syrups and some cookbooks - to the innumerable bells hanging atop and the background with walls being brick themed. The entire setup looked gorgeous and equally soothing. More credits to the lighting which added its charm to the decor - giving a cozy feel.
I was in love with the decor.
At one corner, was this wooden partition which held various copper utensils  - interesting!
In all, the plush premium interiors which looked sharp.
The place can easily accommodate about 50 odd people.
They have few sofa seating arrangement, others are the comfy table chair seating and some seating by the bar.

'The Great Indian Kebab Festival' will serve an array of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes - and trust me you would leave the place feeling totally satiated. 😊

Started the food adventure with mocktail - SHIKANHJI, which was a rich drink albeit it had tad bit more jaljeera flavours flowing in. The drink was a mixture of mint, chaat masala, jaljeera, fresh lime and soda and garnished with mint leaves and lemon slices. The PEACHY SUNRISE was a light drink with peach and apricot flavours concocted with lime and soda - sweet and refreshingly light.

For munchers we were served with roasted papads. As we were munching, in no time the table was flooded with various delicacies.
Started with the KHADEY MASALA KA PANEER TIKKA -  whole roasted paneer in tandoor with copious amounts of khada masala - you could literally feel the taste of khadey masala. The paneer pieces were fresh, juicy and spicy - a perfect combo, giving one no reason to complain.
Next in line was the DILLI KI LAL TIKKI - how can someone come up with such an innovative combination of beetroot - potato - paneer - gooseberry - breadcrumbs?! The blend was deep fried in breadcrumbs coating - such softness - melts in your mouth with ease. As you would slice through the tikki, you could see the hints of the beautiful red from the beetroot and cheesy texture. Absolutely rocking!! This was the stellar dish of the day - atleast for me. The tikki served on a bed of the crunchy kurkre and a dash of tomato chutney spread over was a perfect accompaniment - an absolute cracker.
Then came in the RAN-E-MURGH - I must have read a million reviews appreciating the dish, I couldn't stop myself from trying the dish. I ordered for a single serving the dish - loved the plating in black which totally highlighted the dish. The extra-delicious chicken legs were grilled to ultimate smoky perfection - tender, marinated with time. The stuffing in it, that of chilli cheese and fresh herbs, was like an icing on the cake. Totally KEBABED!!

By this time we were so full, that we decided to skip the mains and jumped straight to the desserts. Wow, this was an end that was called for after the flavourful starters that we had. The MALAI KULFI was 3 slices of homemade ice-cream - thick, lush and creamy.Toothsome!
Next we opted for their signature Lucknowi sensation MUZZAFAR  - a semblance of rich, thick rabdi adorned with sliced dry fruits and golden roasted vermicelli. Perfect flavours with balanced sweetness and totally indulgent. The golden roasted vermicelli added to the crunchiness.
We did a little innovation there - a bite of malai kulfi mixed with muzzafar, and we were stunned with the taste - nawabi and nesty!! Divine.

Perfect end to a perfect weekend.

There was not even one dish that I could complain about - they had maintained that level of flawlessness.
