Food anatomization : Vaishali, Solapur Road - Pune
On a lookout for an all vegetarian dining place - we landed on this place, purely on a recommendation from a friend.
This place is on the Pune-Solapur road, watch out for the right turning to the restaurant, since you would be on the other side of the road - easily miss-able - be on a lookout!! 😐
Thankfully, they have a parking space right in front of the restaurant. Not a very fancy place, a simple restaurant, located on -1 of a shopping complex.
It has an outdoor seating with about 15-20 table setup and an indoor seating with more seating space. The outdoor seating is little cramped up - with less room to walk through.
We ordered for the MASALA PAPADS for our ultimate hunger pangs to pause - and were we highly disappointed - a big no!!
There are few things, you just can't go wrong with.The papad had become soggy with the added salad accompaniments. When we asked them to replace the papads, they abided with a long face. But alas no use - the same story.
We figured the problem, was that they stack the fried the papads way before the order comes. They just add the salad accompaniments when the order is put through. This is the major goof up which is a sure shot disaster.
So the mains consisted of the KAJU MASALA- we had ordered this dish only after confirmation from the server, who told us this was the spicy version of the KAJU CURRY. Well, dismay strikes yet again - sad! The dish was good sans the sweetness.
The BUTTER NAAN - I know they are trying to live up to the name of the dish but it was literally as though it had been bathed in butter - you could squeeze, yes squeeze the butter oil - just dabbing wouldn't help.
The VEG MUGHLAI was stellar dish of the evening, given all the chaos that had yielded to spoil our mid week dinner. Well, I have never had a VEG MUGHLAI to be frank - minced veggies, paneer in a papad wrapping in a yummy-licious gravy. I was stunned with the dish - absolutely loved it. Crispy on the outside and stuffed with flavors bursting veggie mixture.💗 Flawless! The serving size was good for 3 people.
For a mid week, the place was crowded - noticed people were turning in more for their fast food servings and juices.
They serve an array of vegetarian dishes. I would have loved to visit the place again to try other dishes - but Nah, I will skip.
We also landed with an issue, with the pricing of mineral bottled water - they charge straight 7 bucks more than the M.R.P. And when you point it, they just say that's how it goes on here - no sense of apology or customer relation antiquates. There could have been better ways to explain stuff like these - but frankly, there can be no excuse for charging customer anything more than M.R.P.
So, no never to this place again, ever ever.
