Gluttony Diaries : Hotel Kolhapuri Katta, Magarpatta - Pune
After having had good experience from their other branch in Hadapsar - this one was a slightly disappointing. You will find me making heavy comparisons from their other outlet - since my experience, there was way better.
Located right opposite Noble Hospital - the restaurant is more spread out from its other branch. They have comparatively spacious outside seating with shades over each table - with about 2-3 tables put outside. The inside seating is comparatively smaller with a mezzanine flooring.
We hit it right with our order.
MASALA PAPADS were crispy and kept us occupied till the food was on the table.
Ordered in for the MALVANI HANDI, where they serve the rassa in a handi and fried chicken chunks in a dry gravy. This one was super spicy and hot - the chicken chunks were tender yet lacked the flavors that I have had in, from their other outlet. Heavy on the masalas, albeit the blend of the spices was missing.
The visit to Kolhapuri Katta can never be complete without their in-house Kaju dishes. The KAJU CURRY AND KAJU MASALA were ordered by my vegetarian friends. The dish was tasty, Kaju pieces in a gravy but failed to pack a punch on the taste buds.
The SEV BHAJI was well attempted, this one faired well in comparison to the other dishes.
Their BHAKRI hands down is really awesome.
To conclude, the overall experience was not a satiating one, for some reason. 😒 You tend to draw comparisons when you have had a better experience in the food genre from their other branch.
The servers are polite.
