Hotel anatomization : With a Magic of wind and flower,The Windflower Resort and Spa, Pondicherry

Windflower Resort and Spa is a well-known chain of resorts with its branches spread across Southern parts of the country right from Bangalore, Mysore, Coorg, Bandipur, Vythiri. 😊

This modern day 4-star resort is your perfect escape in the lapse of nature amidst the free-flowing backwaters of Bay of Bengal - located at a distance of just, just 5 minutes from the Paradise Beach here.

Be it any time of the day, you have full access to the beach.πŸ’§
With over 50 villas/suites - the resort is flocking with families - all here with the same intent - relaxation.

A piece of paradise which will also serve as a piece of an award against all the stress that we live in. A perfect retreat!!😍

HOW TO GET HERE:

Since we were driving in from Bangalore - once we reached Pondicherry, it took us about 30 minutes to reach the resort.

The way to the resort is off the main road. Slightly crooked and Google Maps won't be your perfect aid on these roads.

It might seem you are driving endlessly amidst kachha roads, crowded houses - don't hesitate to take help from the onlookers. There are not many road signs to help your way to the resort, only one when you are making the last turn to the resort. Damn....

The resort is located in the little town of Veerampattinam in Manavely Revenue Village.

WINDFLOWER RESORT & SPA:

The hotel entrance looked grandeur with the elephant sculptures, pillars in the garden. It is equipped with a valet parking.
The hotel lobby looked plush in a simplistic manner - especially the Buddha structure, the majestic chandeliers - classy and glitzy, the hanging lamps and the small bed of water around - overall created quite a lasting impression. πŸ‘Œ

There subtle colour usage in the decor of the resort was soothing.

The check-in process was very smooth, they handle guests one at a time. After the collecting the required documents, we were allotted our suite.

The staff helped us with our luggage to our room.
Their rooms are categorized as : Windflower Villa , Windflower Suite and Windflower Studio.

We had opted for the Windflower Suite which was a spacious room with hardwood flooring and a balcony sit out overlooking the garden. The garden with the huge chess board at the center was a huge added attraction.
And yeah, you can actually play the game, by lifting the giant players.
When we entered the rooms - the floor seemed dirty, given its proximity to the beach. I wouldn't deny it is really difficult to keep the rooms ultra clean, but the floors being moist and dusty is not acceptable - we requested the cleaning guys to come over ASAP for a room service - they were quick to abide.
And finally they set everything right, from placing fresh towels, bottles of water, toiletries - something which should have been done prior our check-in - never the less.

By the second day we had no qualms, they were bang on there - no complaints. ✌
The rooms were well equipped with snacks and tea/coffee counter -all stocked up. There were complimentary welcome cookies.

The intricate karigiri on the wooden headboard was splendid!πŸ’œ

The walk-in closet was exquisite with spacious washrooms and bathing area - giving ample space.  With a wardrobe and luggage keeping space - it was all sorted - no messy-ness!! πŸ‘

The rooms are not very well lighted in terms of natural light - but the balcony with the lush greenery view is the perfect vacation setting. πŸ˜‡
And so is the single sofa lounger perfect for lazing through the day and watching your favourite TV shows/movies.😌

For me the resort itself was good enough, to spend time with myself - reading a book and immersing in the beauty of Pondicherry.

Go for their Ayurveda spa and rejuvenate yourself. πŸ’œ

The resort has it all - greens and the blues - lethal combination of trees with water. πŸ‘

The staff is really cordial and are really helpful with suggestions and information about Pondicherry. They helped us with the taxi guys who could take us around Pondicherry.

The first thing I did after quick lunch was take a tour of the resort - clicking innumerable pictures and soon enough I found myself drawn to the beach which I mentioned earlier is at a distance of just 5 minutes.

But trust me, waking up to a view like this amidst the backwaters of Bay of Bengal, the constant chirping of the birds and immense beauty of nature - is when you feel the pinch of the rote life that we are leading - this is such a quiet nature friendly place, wish I could stay here forever.

This is the luxury of life, that we miss out in the busy chaotic lives of ours.😍

As you checkout, they even take a feedback about your stay.

I just hope they keep in mind about the cleanliness part and have pre-check-in formalities in the suites evaluated.
