Food anatomization : IHop, Bloomington

Craziness at its best - sadly hurt by the closing down of the IHop in Champaign, we drove for about an hour - covering a distance of 51 miles to Bloomington to experience the wonder omelettes of IHop.

Omelette has always been my favorite dish and truly this was the first dish that I even learnt to cook.
IHop is an acronym for the International House of Pancakes - a place to enjoy a hearty breakfast.

Their menu lets you into the world of the wide range of omelette one could venture to. They have a special kid's menu. They offer a wide variety of pancakes.

The server was an old man who was extra courteous - and loved the way he greeted all the guests. We were here on a Friday when it is open 24X7. He was the only server and handled his guests aptly.

The place is quite spread out and can accommodate 50 or more odd people. They have American stylo sofa seating and the table-chair seating too. The place is well lighted with wall portraits of various food items put up.

We started our order with the CHICKEN FAJITAS - the omelette was filled with fajita seasoned chicken breasts, onions , green peppers and topped with loads of grated cheese. You can additionally ask in for the salsa which is the extra taste enhancer. The omelette can be combined with a side - we went in for the 3 ultra delicious fluffy flavored pieces of BUTTERMILK PANCAKES. Just top the pancakes with a deliberate amounts of maple syrup and you will be blown out of the world. I just loved every bite of the pancake. The omelette was also tasty, heavily loaded - but lacked the certain flavors by lets say by 20% less as compared to the CHICKEN FLORENTINE CREPES. I had resisted it at first, due to the presence of spinach. But wait till you grab a bite and man, you will be just kept wanting for more. The dish has 2 crepes served filled with grilled chicken, loads of mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese. The crepes are plated on a bed of boiled spinach with the toppings of the white cheddar sauce, and freshly chopped tomatoes, and few strands of basil. Just impeccable.

It was worth the 1 hour of drive and the chilliness outside.
