Wanderlust Tales : Shree Siddhivinayak, Mumbai

Last year during this time, I had a gala time since my parents were here to visit me. An impromptu plan to spend the weekend in Mumbai was the best thing that could have happened. This post has been long due and I am glad I finally had the time to pen it down.

Since childhood, Mumbai had always been our gate away for catching flights outside the country - which led me to visit quite a number of places during my short stint here. But this longer trip to Mumbai was a much needed refresher. :)

Shree Siddhivinayak - is a must visit place in Mumbai.

As soon as we landed in Mumbai via train, with the help of a traffic cop - who guided us quite well  to say : we found that the Shree Siddhivinayak temple was about 2-3 kilometers from the railway station and we could easily make our way there in a cab. The charges are about 10Rs/- per person in a shared cab to the temple.

Once you are near the temple, brace yourself for the long queues. You would find many leaving their shoes outside at the vendors selling flowers and Prasad items, but after you pass the security check - there are designated shoe stalls.
Post the security check, there is a long gallery with numerous shops and stalls where you can as well purchase your items for chadawa from here. You need not rush to buy them from the stalls outside.

Once you are in the queue for the darshan, you will find it very well organised. They leave the people in batches for the darshan, which ensures all the people get ample time for the darshan and are left content with the darshan.
In all the visit is purely serene and peaceful!! You feel a different sense of satisfaction and gratitude seeing Bappa. The orange that Bappa wore, gave a different positive vibe altogether.:)
The inner structure where Bappa is placed, is plated in gold.

Seeking his blessings brings about immense joy.

And the beautiful thing is, in spite of being pushed and hurled a little – you definitely get a chance to see Bappa from very close. No one is shouting or pushing you aside from the security or management.

Few pictures from the visit:

 Cheers to life!!
