Food anatomization : Signature Room, John Hancock Center - Chicago

Isn't it an amazing feeling to be able to see the world under your feet - and if you want to experience it, this is the place you got to be!
If you are in Chicago, and you don't visit the Signature Room, as my friend says "It is the mistake of the millennium. 😎"
If not for anything, you have to go there for the jaw dropping-ly sensational night view of downtown Chicago - but make sure to choose a day with clear sky to witness the wondrous view.
The Signature Room is the highest bars in the world.

Why go to the Sears Tower - when you can enjoy a hearty meal and have a memorable evening at the Signature Room located at the John Hancock Center?! Trust me, it is worth your money.

As you enter the John Hancock Center, there is a queue already lined up with waiting people. The wait time can range from about 15-30 minutes till you make your way up and have a table for yourself.

The lift that takes you to the 95th floor can accommodate about 10-12 people at one go - as the bullet lift zoops to the top, you do feel the pressure building up and your ears start to pop out. We timed our way to the 95th floor, it took approximately 45 seconds. Imagine 95 floors in 45 seconds, wohooo....
If you make reservations prior, you need not queue up for the lift - you are given direct access to the lift.
Since only small batches are left at a time, there is a queue - even as you near the lounge.

The Signature Lounge is evenly distributed - the bar at the center of the room with high bar stools around it for grabbing quick drinks.
Then there is the casual table seating, with closely placed high bar stools and countertops - spread by the window to give you the glimpse of the panoramic view of the skyline of Chicago and the lake.
And finally to accommodate the bigger groups they have the comfortable lounge or sofa seating - although here you will be withheld from the enchanting vision, albeit you could always go up to the left side of the restaurant, where they have left ample space for people to enjoy the view and click numerous snaps if they will.
The decor is old American style with the walls adorned with numerous classic portraits from the 60's-70s era.The lounge is dimly lighted.

And ladies, mind you the most incredible view of the city of Chicago is indeed from the washroom!! πŸ˜‰ Do take a trip!

The place is extremely crowded at least in the evening, and from what I noticed - but as the evening progressed, by 9-ish the place was getting little less fuller.

Do check the website for the dress code - I guess there is no dress code for the lounge though.

The Signature Lounge serves mainly American, seafood, and pub food.
We ordered for the CHICKEN WRAP - it was a cold wrap with spiced grilled chicken. Additionally, it was loaded with avocado, cheddar, tomatoes, red cabbage, lettuce and some other veggies and served with loads of kettle chips. At first, I was resistant towards a cold wrap - but as I started biting through, I enjoyed the loaded chunks of grilled chicken, veggies - all the ingredients just blended so well in the mouth.

The service is little slow - but that's because of the huge crowd they have to handle.
Special mention of the guy who got us the table - when we arrived we did not get a place by the window, but when we requested he shifted us to a lovely table by the window - and that was when we unwound the beauty of the downtown Chicago at a glance.
