Gluttony Events : Behrouz, Magarpatta City - Pune

Behrouz, sounds so surreal isn't it?! I am happy to have added this word in my vocabulary - wiki defines it is a Persian word which possibly means prosperous.

Behrouz is another newbie in town and is a food chain which specialises in Persian Biryani.

So when I got a mail from Shubham from Fork Media to try their biryani I quickly gave a nod.😊

WHAT I TRIED:

Received the ZAIKEDAAR PANEER BIRYANI about an hour late - I had requested the delivery to be at 1300-ish. But I got a call from their delivery partners only by 1330, and the food finally arrived by 1400-ish! Home delivery and not sticking to timelines is highly daunting! Currently the outlet in Magarpatta is a delivery only place hence... πŸ˜’

Once the delivery was handed over to me,it was impressive - a cute compact paper box containing the box of biryani and the two add ons of mirch ka salan and curd in it. There was also a neatly wrapped packet with a tissue,a spoon and after mint. The packaging was appreciable I would say - beautifully boxed, looked chic and was complete!

The biryani was delivered about warm. As the unboxing of the biryani begun the room was filled with the strong enigmatic aroma of the biryani. Wow!
The biryani was garnished beautifully was sliced almonds atop, raisins and coriander - there were loads of whole spices like cloves, cinnamon in the biryani. The layer of masala blended really well with the layer of the long grains of basmati rice - some grains which were slightly saffron and others white, the caramelized onions and the super soft marinated cubes of paneer. The cubes of paneer enhanced the taste of the biryani a step more.
The biryani tasted good, was well cooked but not sure if it would classify as Zaikedaar -  this I also say because it is coming from a restaurant that only serves biryani!
The mirch ka salan tasted good on the first bite but then there was this bitterness which was flowing in. The curd was good with hints of mint sans the chopped onions and some seasonings.
The biryani came close to impress!
