Gluttony Diaries : Prem's, Koregaon Park - Pune

Prem's - the place which has found a fondness for itself among st the major population of the city.Although, I have had mixed experiences here - ranging from excellent food to not too satisfying one.
I hear it has been in the city for over a decade. 😎

Surprisingly, I hadn't reviewed the restaurant previously - so with this visit of mine, I took the liberty to click a lot of pictures to have the story to tell. 😁

With an alfresco seating and an open bar - the ambiance is pleasant. To specifically note, are the umbrella placed with lights embedded in it, it would definitely make a beautiful evening decor. 😍
The saffron colored umbrella and the umpteen plants and trees give a very peaceful vibe altogether. πŸ’š
It could serve as a perfect setting for a candle night date. πŸ˜—

The place can easily accommodate more than 50-80 guests plus they are well suited for larger groups too.

Their menu is a variety serving Indian, continental and Chinese cuisine. 😊

We were a horde of people placing various orders - so for the non vegetarian's delight, the server suggested we order for the NON VEG PLATTER. This was a thoughtful mixture of the best in the genre of starters and kebabs, each succulent pieces of chicken having a distinct taste. The dishes ranged from RESHMI KEBAB, MALAI TIKKA, SEEKH KEBAB, TANDOORI CHICKEN - mouth watering-ly good. πŸ˜‹
In the SEAFOOD PLATTER - the TANDOORI PRAWNS were killer, small delicate prawns tandoor-ed perfectly, tasted amazing with the assortment of the spicy green chutney. Another starter was the KOLIWADA I assume, with the crispy outer layer this one was absolutely drooling! πŸ˜‹
The MASALA PAPAD was okay-ish, less on the topping I would say.

Starters without mocktails are just not right - so ordered in for the MERRY BERRY which was a concoction of lime juice with sugar syrup and a blend of passion fruit puree, blueberry puree, raspberry puree and cranberry juice.
Slightly thicker and tangier than I had expected - but could have been better.
The starters had left us totally satiated but alas what came ahead was a slight let down. πŸ˜•

For the main course, we ordered in for the CHICKEN KOLHAPURI. This was majorly for the folks in for wanting to have Indian cuisine - a typical taste where the spicy red masala reminded me of the taste of chole masale. Aiin?! I was in for a setback.
Not sure it was very much the kolhapuri apart from the spicy factor, that it claimed, it was. πŸ˜’
The ACHARI CHICKEN was indeed the savior for the main course - but the chicken chunks seemed slightly undone, with visible stands of adrak shavings - this one was well attempted. Went well with the GARLIC NAAN from the ROTI BASKET. πŸ˜‹
For the heck of trying something from the continental, we ordered in for the VEG LASAGNE. Disappointed - I had high hopes, but they were shattered adversely. πŸ˜‘
For the price, the portion seemed less, which wasn't the primary issue as much for its taste - it definitely seemed only double layered -  pasta sheets with sauce and veggies embedded. I think it was the zucchini which was imparting a very bitter taste which kind of marred the dish. 😟😒
To say, the garlic bread was the best part of the dish. 😐
We had to have a change of taste and also hoping to end things on a sweeter note, we ordered in for the desserts. And they definitely won my heart. 😘
The RASPBERRY CHEESECAKE, when placed on the table, seemed every bit delicious and sure it was. Moist with the fruity goodness, it was indulgent with a super crunchy base. The color of the dessert was a treat to the eyes, and as I write about I am just relishing the taste. 😍
The CHOCOLATE GANACHE CAKE was rich, gooey and totally decadent with its thick texture and the chocolate stick. Yummy! A must for the chocolate fanatics. 😝

Baked Cheesecake
The TIRAMISU with layers of sponge cake and the coffee based filling and coffee dusting was okay-ish. This one balanced the sweet rush, I had post the cheesecake saga. 😁
The service is slightly un-organized I would say. They were quick to take the orders, set the plates - although we had to wait up for almost 30 minutes for a serving of steamed rice. Come on!!
