Gluttony Events : Euriska, Mundhwa - Pune

Before I could publish my Zomato meet up review for the earlier one, it was time for yet another one! Time flies...

Euriska in Greek means a new discovery, and it indeed was one for me - an easily noticeable place, located right next to the KP mall.

And there I was clicking pictures, right before even I could enter the place.

The white washed rugged walls - blue doors give a complete feel of the Greece, as you see in the pictures. The decor is said to be heavily inspired by the architecture of the city of Santorin.
I was in love with the ambiance, the dΓ©cor and the 'Greeky' touch. An absolute delight!
Dimly lighted with hints of blue prominent in every corner.
The windmill placed at one corner was an interesting addition to the decor and it fitted just about perfectly!
The classy art pieces were chosen aptly to complement the white washed rugged walls, such that it enhanced the beauty of the paintings.
If only there was some water sort of stuff overlooking the place - the place would have been picture perfect.

The places serves Greek, Italian and Mediterranean cuisines.

Euriska has an open bar, and the restaurant houses about 20 or more tables.
There was a separate section reserved for us, which could accommodate plentiful of people arriving for the meet up.

The seating arrangement is thoughtfully divided into three - one are the comfy sofas, then the usual restro table-chair setup and the other ones are the seating across the bar & in the open with the bar stools. One can suit oneself with the seating preference as per one's mood! :)
I wonder how does it work during rainy season!!
Being an open air, they have fans kept at various corners of the restaurants - which might be a relief, when needed.

As we settled, there was chef Mr.Ajay Thakur - who briefed us about the newly launched - All day dining menu and their various specialties. From what I figured, the menu specializes mainly in the sea food domain.
Then was time for the Master class with the chef. The dish that would be the end result of the master class was the DUCK CONFIT.
We were made aware of each of the intricate details of the dish right from the kind of meat, the robust herbs that needed to be added, to the cooking time of the meat and added ingredients.
Definitely not a dish that could be easily prepared at home, as it needs way too much dedication and cooking time and oil - since what we understood is that the duck meat is the toughest.
Once the meat was done, the garnishing was simple with the pulled meat(pulled - since it is just pulled out and not sliced),herbs, vinegrette, lettuce, olives(not sliced but just crushed using the hands) and salt.
I don't very well recall each and every step of the making of the dish - but the end result did look healthy.
I totally admire the effort taken by the chef to educate us with the nitty gritty of the dish preparation. Kudos chef!
The chef also explained the way the kitchen is divided from the bread storage section, to the hot corner, cold storage etc. Nice!
What I liked about the place is that the kitchen is very much visible to people, not an open kitchen yet see through :P

By this time, the order placed for the drinks were ready.
Initially I had ordered a detox drink in LEMON AND GOOSEBERRY FLAVOUR. Few sips into it, and it was OKAY-ISH, but further sippings just got bitter - hence a change of drink to another detox drink RELAXANT- was a relief with the sweet factor and it was refreshing.
Next I ordered for the EURISKA CHICKEN BURGER - it was served with French fries, some sauce and salads. Simple plating. The burgers were really heavy and filling. I was really full mid way through my dish. The burger had beautifully cooked slices of char grilled chicken - soft and succulent and indeed delicious.
Not a fan of sea food, still did try the SEAFOOD PIZZA - a bite forced me to put my hands down on the dish. It was a thin crust pizza.
I regret not having ordered anything from the kids menu - this is definitely on my next visit to the place. :D
I dug for a very small portion of the  CHICKEN SAGANAKI served along with Focaccia. The dish was quite talked about by the chef, which is apparently a Greek specialty. Chunks of chicken blended in tomato sauce topped with loads of cubes of cheese - simplicity at its best.
This was followed by the NUTELLA CHOCO & CHEESE PIZZA - could I have asked for more?!To my surprise - the combo of Nutelllaaaa and the cheese went so well. I totally adored pizza.
Ordered along was the OREO SHAKE - less of OREO in it but it was indeed chocolaty and thick - enjoyed the shake.
The BAKLAVA- was parceled for us. I expected better packaging though. Baklava, first heard of here Baklava, is a Mediterranean delicacy having sweet flavors and is crunchy. It has layers of phyllo as they call it and the base was a sweet filling with nuts and honey. Classic-ly scrumptious!

Music was fancy! People started pouring in with time, and it was a busy evening.

The service was cheerful - special care was being taken for our requests.

A special mention to Chef Ajay Thakur and his team for bringing forth the best dishes for us. Kudos to the team of Zomato for arranging a fun filled evening for the foodies. :) The meet up was very interactive with all the foodies telling about their favorite cuisines, restaurants and the must go places - quite different from my last meet up. Loved interacting with all the guys!
