How could I every say no to an invite for 'The Coconut Tree'. The invite was extended by Ankita from id8 Media Solutions. A big shout out!! πŸ‘

Coconut Tree has etched its name in the genre of serving scintillating premium sea food delicacies and this time around I was left totally spell bound.
It is a place to be, to savor Coastal culinary delights.πŸ’•πŸ’•

Prerna, was a wonderful host - she waited up there till I made it to the restaurant
(given that I was late due to some urgent work πŸ˜’) and gave us the details for the tasting.
Our table was taken care by Mr. Arvind who had planned the dishes for the evening very thoughtfully - serving a range of sea food, chicken and vegetarian dishes.

Kicked off the evening with the refreshing-ly chilled WATERMELON MOJITO drink. The hints of mint added charm to the drink. I loved the cute scoops of watermelon - relished them post my drink was done.πŸ’œ

The POMPREFT KURKERE - was a notch up in the dry-ness and crispy-ness factor. Eating the pomfret fish and not feeling satisfied is saddening. πŸ˜’

The TENALI PRAWNS - lip smacking-ly good. Loved the slight burnt texture of the masala coating on the prawns. Teamed up with the dip, this was absolutely satiating. πŸ‘Œ
Look at the beauties.😍

The GHEE ROASTED CHICKEN served in a heavy iron pot over a banana leaf was the typical south Indian preparation with a punch of mustard seeds, garlic and the power packed Andhra masalas. Spicy with a kick of flavors, and not to miss the heavy usage of ghee.πŸ˜‹

The KAVERI PANEER TIKKA preparation was well attempted with the paneer cubes being fresh,tandoor-ed aptly and slathered with green chutney. The only offsetting part was the overdose of ajwain. This dish was from their Nawabi preparation specialty.

MCG another refreshing drink with crushed cucumber, ginger and mint leaves.

The VEG ANDHRA CHILLY  was a gripping dish. Seemed like a dal wadi encompassing the goodness of corn, garlic, beans and tossed in a rich flavorful Andhra masala. The dash of the pungent-ness was an interesting touch to the dish plus a starter in a thick gravy was a first for me. 😎

Hit off the mains with the CHICKEN CHETTINAD - orange gravy based dish with tender chicken chunks, done beautifully. This was paired with the super soft ghee clad MALLIGE DOSA which was surprisingly stunning. I have never liked the idea of having dosa with meat or fish 😀- but I guess I am left with a changed perception now. πŸ˜ƒ

SURMAI DAKHSINI CURRY - just glancing at the typical tadka of spicy red sukhi mirchi, mustard, fried garlic, dal bites and curry leaves was enough to knock my senses off.
And the dish lived up to my expectation - wooed me completely. The fish having marinated in hung curd, and then prepared in their in house Dakshini paste was an absolute winner. πŸ’š

The MALAI KULFI although an usual affair was the perfect end to the wonderfully hosted dinner for us. As I always say, winters and kulfi/ice cream are the lethal combination. πŸ’‹
Creamy and chilled!! 😊
