Gluttony Diaries : The Dream Kitchen, Magarpatta - Pune

The Dream Kitchen - not a dreamy food affair. πŸ˜‘

With umpteen good reviews being flooded over the social media about the restaurant, the vegetarian dishes definitely didn't leave us satiated. The non vegetarian dishes ordered for the day were the true saviors. πŸ˜‰
Located in the Konark Icon building - the Dream Kitchen has a modernized Dhaba style seating. They have an rooftop seating, which was I guess is kept closed during the lunch hours. It is surprising how simple concepts from yester year are leaving a mark in people's heart.

They specialize in North Indian and Punjabi cuisine and play upbeat Punjabi music throughout.πŸ˜‡

Overlooking Hadapsar - this one has a good view to offer, the least you get, as you dine through. 😍
Simple decor addresses the dhaba theme - the rang biranha khatiyas, low leveled tables.

Jumping to the food - we ordered for the MASALA PAPAD - crunchy start!πŸ‘‚
They offer a MURRABBA with a bitter sweet tangy taste - interesting mix of flavors in a bite - served as an amuse-bouche! 😈

A glass of the SWEET LIME SODA to quench the thirsty souls. 😍
DAHI DE SOLAY - their specialty dish. These are kebabs prepared in curd - indeed well attempted I would say. Given that preparing something in hung curd which as is, is very delicate is a task, but this one failed to win hearts at our table.
Alas same was the case for the CHATPATTA CHAAP. Chaap brings back fond memories of street food - this one was typically soya based, marinated and deep fried. The servers informed us that the ingredients are brought in from far off places, this one seemed tad bit more salty and tasted about OK. And yeah, I must admit this almost fooled me to taste meat like - and I evidently passed this as a scare to the vegetarian buddies of mine!! πŸ˜›
The TANGDI KEBAB - mindbogglingly done tandoor-ed pieces of  well marinated spicy chicken legs, heavenly is the word. πŸ˜‹
The PANEER CHILLY - ultra soft cubes of paneer, tossed with plentiful of bell peppers, onions and spring onions having only the slight-est of Chinese flavors, this one too lacked the typical chilly wala special taste. πŸ˜‘
The CHICKEN RARA was a brilliant dish - thick rich dark spicy curry with minced chicken. Went perfect with the soft stuffed beautifully rolled AMRITSARI KULCHAS. The gravy was mashaaa-allah!

SHAHI TUKDA - No, no?! How could one go wrong with this?! This was one slices of bread dipped in thick rabdi, adorned with dry fruits and drizzled with rose syrup - a bite into it put me off. 😧

My vegetarian buddies didn't have anything good to say about the main course.

All the scores only for the ambiance, view and the non-vegetarian dishes. Sadly, didn't have a good stint with the vegetarian dishes. 😦

We were asked about the review of the food, in the restaurant as well. We gave our honest opinion - but I guess it was not taken in the right spirit, which was evident from the long faces of the folks in the restaurant. I would say, nobody likes to take in negative feedback, and I am sure it must be disheartening - but at least don't show the anguish to the guests. 😟
