Wanderlust Tales : Goa Diaries

2017 has been one of my most eventful and most traveled years. Travel-icious year!! 😍

After Pondicherry, Dubai and now the ultimate SUN,BEACH and SAND destination - GOAAAAA!!

It is surprising how Goa can exude energy and calmness at the same time. 😈

This time the visit was on a team event - coincidentally the last time I was in Goa, it was with the Sprinters and yet again. See the irony of it!😝

Just the word Goa, is enough to pump up the energy levels and imbibe the feeling of joy and ecstatic-ness. 💕

GLIMPSE INTO THE HISTORY:

Goa is a state in western Indian with coastlines stretching along the Arabian Sea. Goa has history and influence of the Portuguese which is evident from the many of the 17th century churches present in and around Goa. 

Goa is popularly known as the city of churches.

Culturally the blend of the Indian and Portuguese can be witnessed and it is this blend which largely influences the cuisine of the place.

HOW TO GET HERE: 

Cyclone Ockhi having struck Goa just 2-3 days prior to our trip had created quite a stir in our plans - we had become too precarious.

Once we reached Goa, trust me the atmosphere of Goa was such that nothing had happened at all - everything was business as usual. 😎 Kudos to the locals, having brought the life back to normal. 👌

Various modes of travel can be opted for Goa:

• Car
• Train
• Bus

We traveled via a sleeper bus, which took approximately about 9.5 hours till the Mapusa Bus stand in Goa.

PLACES TO SEE:

Goa has a rich cultural heritage and definitely its churches,beaches and the Goan cuisine make up for its majority of tourist pull. 😍
