Food Tasting Event : Firangi Bake, Baner - Pune
The food tasting was extended by Sayali from Firangi Bake.
I had placed the order for the items and they were quick to respond that they do not deliver on the day I had requested for - and they pre-poned the delivery. It showed they care. 😊
Ordered in for the BOMBAY MASALA QUESADILLA - definitely a firangi dish served with a desi twist. There were 2 quesadillas placed in the neatly packed box. 😃
The quesadillas were stuffed with typical chatpata, spicy Bombay masala constituting of smashed potatoes with veggies like bell peppers,onions ,peas and cheeeeese - flavorsome.
It was a tad bit salty for my appetite and there was literally an overdose of bell peppers in the quesadillas.
By the time I had finished gorging into the quesadilla - it had become slightly messy. 😑
Only question was had it been baked, why was there significant amount of oil/butter remains in the box.
And the TANDOORI KUKKAD POT RICE was a hidden gem underneath the layer of baked cheese - just dig into the cheesy layer and unearth the gravy-licious tender tandoor-ed chicken chunks cooked in rich orange gravy.
It was lip smacking-ly awesome - I would have preferred some more amount of rice. There was significant usage of khada masala in the preparation. Spoon it from top to bottom and each bite would be a dose of cheese then the pot rice with the generous amounts of kukkad - cheesy, masale-dar and labab-dar!!😋💖 This dish was the true winner in terms of taste and their concept - pura desi twist! 👌
But the bread sticks accompanying the rice was heavy on butter,slightly burnt and way too salty. 😔
