Wanderlust Tales : Dubai Diaries - The Magnificent Dancing Fountain Show

DAY 1

HOW TO GET HERE:

Wasting no time, we set off early morning from the Discovery Garden where we were put up to the Dubai Mall.

It took us about 30-45 minutes to reach Dubai Mall which stands at a distance of about 30 km or so.

Dubai is well connected - you will get taxis in a jiffy, they also have the metro buses and train running which connects all the major points of Dubai . Quite impressive.

There is a direct metro train that runs from the Ibn Butata Metro Station to the Dubai Mall Metro Station.

But note to travel in the metro buses or trains, one needs to hold a metro card.

They do provide one day passes too for the tourists - we opted for the taxi to be our ride. πŸ˜‡

MARHABBA DUBAI!!

FOUNTAIN SHOW:

The fountain show is a elaborate combination of water, music and light. To witness the fountain literally dance to the beats of Arabic music - will give anyone goosebumps.πŸ’• The music was a true reminiscence of good old days.

It was a spectacular show with the view of the Burj Al Khalifa in the background and the illuminated water just swinging on the beats of the music. This is one of the popular tourist's attractions in Dubai - and why wouldn't it be?! πŸ‘Œ

Breathtakingly captivating! 😍

To witness the fountain show, people are just thronging the place, and I can't deny - it is totally worth it!

We witnessed the show from the promenade of the Dubai Mall which is a free attraction.

You can also book for the special The Dubai Fountain Lake Ride at special prices - which is a sail on the Abra to give you a closer look and feel of the show. 😊

TIMINGS:

The show is run on specific days and times:

Afternoon shows: 13:00 /13:30 except Fridays

Afternoon shows: 13:30pm/14:00pm only Fridays

Evening shows18:00 - 23:00, every half hour.

Befitting time for witnessing the fountain show would be the evening hours - just remarkable shows.

GLIMPSE INTO THE HISTORY:

It is the second largest choreographed fountain system set on the 30 acre man-made Burj Al Khalifa lake.

It is illuminated by 6000 lights and 25 colored projectors. With high-pressure water jets and shooters, a magnificent show is created. 😊

Just look at the numbers - it jets up to 22,000 gallons of water which goes as high as 150 m in the air.

It was designed by WET Design, California based company responsible for the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel Lake in Las Vegas.
