Scullery experiments : Pizza style Uttapam

The pizza style Uttapam is as my mom Mom says is our very own "Desi Pizza" loaded with veggies sans the cheese!! 😁

Now a days the dosa batter are available ready made in many grocery centers - you could buy packaged ones or prepare the batter at your own home - choice is totally yours.

Ingredients:
  • Veggies
    • Onions
    • Tomatoes
    • Bell peppers
    • Chills
    • Beet root
    • Beans
  • Chili flakes
  • Italian seasoning
Thin slice all the vegetables like the onions, tomatoes, bell peppers, beans and chili's. The better option for the beet root is to grate the beet root.

Sprinkle salt and pepper over the mixture.
  

Step by step instructions :
 -  Take a non stick pan and add about 1 teaspoon of oil, allow it to heat up.
-   Once heated up enough, pour the batter and spread across the batter evenly in a circular manner.


 -   Once the batter is set in the pan, add the veggies over the top.


-   Sprinkle the chili flakes and the Italian seasoning as per your taste.
-   To avoid the veggies falling off while flipping the uttapam - try  press the veggies in the uttapam.
-   Close the lid and allow it to cook for about 4-5 minutes.
-   Open the lid and add about 1 teaspoon of oil around the uttapam which would ensure the sides are   crispy.
-   If you are able to move the uttapam easily in the pan - it is time to flip the uttapam to allow the other side to be cooked equally.
And voila, there you are ready with the veggie-licious uttapam - and it is an absolute treat.
