Food anatomization : K-Macho's, Overland Park - Kansas
K-Machos: It took me a while to adjust to the name - machos instead of nachos!! The name sounds quite sexist though. 😀😊 I am sure they must have a perfect explanation for that.
What matters is it promises to bring the most authentic and exclusive Mexican cuisine - and it did a good job in that genre. 😋😊😃
The place screams Mexican - with colorful wall papers all through the room - it deemed to be one happy and jolly place thronged with hungry happy people during the lunch hours.
The place is located about at a distance of only 5 minutes from the Sprint campus.
With vibes from the Mexican culture, the place had completely swung itself into giving a tad bit insight into them. The chandeliers, the pictures from the traditional Mexican dance, the art work - kudos!!
The place is huge and seating can adjust groups of all types - roughly I think the place can accommodate about 100 or more folks in there.
We were a group of 10 people who had come to lunch in together - took us a while to grab a place. Make sure you make prior reservations - looks like the place is ever crowded.
Settle in, and you are in for their unlimited servings of freshly fried, hot tortilla squares with a plethora of spicy sauces, salsa, guacamole, and dips. I mean, by the time food arrived - we were half full by this appetizer itself. 😋
For the mains, I dug in straight to their lunch menu - which was suited for a single serving apparently, but it was way more for me at least to say. 😆
I ordered the CHICKEN SIZZLING FAJITAS - grilled to perfection and seasoned chunks of chicken served on a bed of sauteed onions in a sizzling platter. This was beautifully garnished with colorful bell peppers - red and yellow.
The dish in its entirety was aptly flavorful and delicious - and to add quite healthy too - ain't it?! 😉😆
Came along with this - an assortment of Mexican rice, beans, guacamole and pico de gallo - this was the mixture for the filling in the flour tortillas. Well, I didn't make an effort to fill into the flour tortillas and took the leverage to have the assortment by itself - although a tad bit spicy-ness and seasonings would have done wonders on it, albeit I would still say - it worked well for me. 😝
The servers could put on a slight smile - it is understandable, managing a huge crowd is a task and can be daunting. Anyhow...
