Food anatomization : Saptami , Holiday Inn : Sakkinakka - Mumbai

Saptami, a modern day dining place, a restaurant that is class apart with its decor - it is located within the premises of the Holiday Inn hotel on the lower floor.

Adjacent to the reception with its lounge seating right outside the restaurant are the extremely comfortable - the huge comfy armchair sofas and the coffee tables.
The walls are adorned with different types of vases in a wooden sort of structure - the lighting is aptly done that it enhances the decor of the place all the more.
In addition they do also the have the Monroe side chairs and table arrangement for dining purposes.
The place can easily accommodate over a 50 guests or so.

Since, I was staying in Holiday Inn - I was here for the complimentary breakfast and my god I was impressed with the varied options available in Indian and Continental cuisines.I liked the presentation of the dishes and the way they were arranged. Kudos!

The buffet was a huge spread and was sensibly divided into sections for the Continental and Indian cuisines. They had beautifully hung the small handis, kadhais and balti over the counters - adding more foodiness to the decor.

To start Continental section was headed by the various types of milk placed on the counter tops - soya, skimmed and others which could be enjoyed plain or with the options of cornflakes on display.
Then there were the breads, canned and freshly made juices also lined up.
Oatmeal was available on request.
They also had the different kinds of buns and the sweet delicacies like the mini donuts, cup cakes and fruit cakes.
They did boost of  - a vegetable sauteed dish which was a mixture of mushrooms, peas & carrots, the hakka noodles, the chilly poptato and the poached fish in pineapple cilantro sauce.
Last but not the least were the pancakes and waffles with the maple syrups of course.
To give a extra healthy start to your day they also had the make own salad counter.
Do you need more?!

The live counters are always a nice addition in a buffet - the chefs were catering to the cravings of their guests ranging from a variety of egg delicacies, the paneer parathas, the uttapams and more.

Indian cuisine was a mix of South Indian and Maharashtrian dishes.
The South Indian delicacies had the idli, sambhar and medu wada with chutneys of course.
In the Maharashtrian cuisine they had the missal pav and poha.
The suji ka halwa was the first that I had seen in a buffet. Nice to have simple and yet popular dish as a part of the buffet.

Since I had returned from my visit to the states, there was this strange desire for the Indian khana - and god bless the chefs, I was highly and totally satiated after my heavy hearty breakfast here.
To my surprise there was not one dish that disappointed me - I must have tried quite a number of dishes and each one had high standards in terms of taste, not even one dish was a let down. It was as they say-  a saga of fulfilment. :)
I started with the idli-sambhar : fluffy round idlis in the hot spicy and tasty sambhar - wow!
The missal pav - topped with the fried mixture - was definitely worthwhile.
Next in line was the Paneer paratha - with the delectably cooked paneer portions stuffed in the paratha so evenly, every bite tasted flawless. Even better when combined with a bowl of yoghurt and some chatpata achaar.
The chilly potato - with a dash of salt and pepper was tasty.
The masala omelette - just like how I like, perfectly cooked and blended with distinct flavours.
By this time, my tummy had absolutely given up - but I did save myself some space for the desserts. Tasted the donuts and the cakes - perfecto to end your top notch weekend breakfast. Cakes were soft and baked with just about perfect amount of sweetness.
The best part about the freshly made juices was that there was no addition of sweetener in it.

I was one super happy and utterly satisfied girly after my craving for the Indian khana were taken care of by the wonder chefs of Saptami. :)

The number of dishes they had pulled together with such stellar taste was worth an applaud. :)

The service is really apt - tables are taken well care of.

Another visit to the place, and I was left flabbergasted as usual. πŸ˜€
The South Indian Delicacies - the IDLIS dipped in the hot, piping SAMBHAR with the thick COCUNUT CHUTNEY combined with the oil free WADAS with a dose of curry leaves, were just mind blowing. I couldn't have asked more. πŸ˜—

The POHA with a topping of roasted peanuts and chopped onions - delicious.
Although, I did not catch hold of the pav but the BHAJI in itself was spicy and had tangy flavors.

The SCRAMBLED EGGS with veggies - coupled with a toast - perfect for the Sunday brunch.

CUT FRUITS and YOGHURT

The CROISSANT were absolutely delicious with the chocolate filling as you dig in the bread. Wow!! πŸ˜‹ The CHOCOLATE CUPCAKES fared well too.
