Food Tasting Event : Tea Trails, Amanora - Pune

After the not so good hospitality at the Law college road outlet, I was here with least expectations. But after my recent experience here, I can say they have definitely won me over. Esha from Large Peg invited me for a blogger's meet here at the Amanora outlet.

Once I was there -  there was a tad bit confusion among the staff if it was a blogger's meet or an individual meet - but once I confirmed, they were quick with the arrangements. Kudos!!

The interiors have been done keeping in mind the tea theme - each of the walls having posters which in some way depict stories related to tea.
You must not miss their decor forte - the wall of signature, which has been carried forward here like in the other outlet where I had been. There were many kullads kept on the protruding extension from the wall - some signed by the guests with their message and some empty for the signing by their future guests.
These kullads as they claim will be forever on these walls. As I signed my kullad with a note, it was almost a Koffee with Karan wali feeling. Paparazzi, are you catching this?! πŸ˜‰

I think they are the first, maybe the pioneers in providing hand sanitize in each of the tables in lovely aromatic and fresh fruity flavors - clean!
The cafe is located on the first floor of the Amanora mall which gives quite an exquisite view of the neighboring area. With seating arrangement set inside and the al fresco seating overlooking the narrow fancy pathway of Amanora, the place can accommodate about 50 or more guests. The alfresco seating is decorated in a way to give a garden feel - with the plants, the green layered carpet. Nice.
A plus point, they even screen the IPL matches.
The place is flooded with family and youngsters - they have placed various board games on each of the tables, which is a good way to bond and spend time. The decor is fresh and strikes through.
Aah, forgot to mention - do notice their door handles - cute in shape of a beautiful wooden carved cup - thoughtful!! πŸ’—

The first to be served on the table was from their range of TISANE teas - the RED ZEN - the tea leaves are mainly made from herbs, flowers, fruits, and roots. This one, in particular, was a sweet and tart blend of hibiscus and berries. Well, what tempted me most about the tea, was the wine-ish color of the drink. Different, yet refreshing! The health benefits include it helps one shed weight, ward off cold and give good sleep.
Drinking tea here is an experience in itself. The tea platter is served as a whole - a cute tray with the sand clock, the brewing pot and the cup & saucer - the saucer with a heart shaped french biscuit. The biscuit was an amalgamation of khari and little hearts - crunchy and crispy!
Tea Trails boasts of a beautiful concept of having the sand clock determine the approximate time for steeping the tea - each type of tea has a specific brewing time, once done - the pot has inbuilt strainer, press a button and pour out the tea to your pot. Quite an effort was taken with the concept, but unique.

The IMPERIAL GUNPOWDER GREEN TEA - despite all the hype, pretty much seemed like the usual tea bag green tea.I don't need to state its health benefits. πŸ˜‰

The OOLONG TEA was an aromatic, smooth textured tea with slight hints of basil, fruity flavors. The health benefits include lowering bad cholesterol levels.

They offer a variety of teas and chai and the collection is immense - you can try what suits your taste buds. Trying something new always brings about a zest. Tea or chai - choice is yours?!

In the food genre, we were served an array of accompaniments. The BUN MUSKA - an usual affair, fresh soft bun with loads of butter of course, goes without saying with a dry sugar icing on the top.

The ALOO PAKODA and the CAPSICUM BHAJIYA were scrumptious - just the green chutney did not go too well with me. A perfect muncher for the evening with your garma garam dudh wali chai.

The PANEER CHEESE BRUSCHETTA was garlic bread topped and heavily loaded with oozing cheese, veggies and lip smacking minced masala paneer. The garlic bread was so soft and fluffy - and trust me even with time passing, it was consistent in the fluffiness.

The CHICKEN CHEESE BRUSCHETTA - similar to the above sans the paneer and welcome the minced masala spicy chicken. The minced chicken was done well and it complimented the flavors of the garlic bread.

The VEGGIES BLAST PIZZA with toppings of 3 pepper, mushroom, onions, baby corn and tomatoes was ultra thin crust crispy pizza - nicely done.

The NON VEG EXTRAVAGANZA PIZZA  was a chicken loaded cheesy pizza. Savory.

PASTA ALFREDO - the pasta was not even in terms of the cream and cheese. The pasta was atop a bed of cream, but the top portion of the pasta seemed dry. Maybe the pasta was not tossed evenly. There were added olives and bell pepper sauce. with veggies and olives.

The cafe also serves MAGGI, yeay!! Maggi....
Both the vegetable maggi and the egg maggi were good - but a little addition of salt would have enhanced the taste. The egg maggi was beautifully adorned with the egg omelette cut through - which made it appear as spaghetti.

The DUTCH TRUFFLE - a gooey chocolate cake with dressing of delicious decadent Belgian truffle icing served with a scoop of chilled ice cream - was gorging on a piece of heaven with each bite.

The TEA TRAILS BUBBLE TEA SUNDAE was okay-ish, the fruit jelly and the tapioca bubbles really did not add much to the scoops of plain ice cream.

The MANGO BUBBLE TEA was a drink which would indeed make you go happy with the popping of the fruity bubbles with essence of mango in the drink. Pop!!

They claim that every dish has some infusion of tea in it.

The staff is really courteous and takes well care of their guests. Special mention to Mr.Darryl Edison - the manager for the wonderful hospitality.
