Wanderlust Tales : Baneshwar, Nasrapur - Pune
Adjacent to the Baneshwar temple, is the forest range which flaunts sightings of few birds and animals - but sadly we didn't spot a soul in there.
The walk through the heavily embedded numerous trees was joyous and refreshing - kind of a short trek in itself.
With the greenery all around and the sun piercing through the small openings between the covers of the tree was a show of light and shadow. π
For the kids, there is a beautiful and resourceful play area built - swings, climb overs, slides and ample place to sit. It is a beautiful man-made park amidst the forest.
As we walked towards the end of the trail - we noticed a small waterbed which had almost become dry. Following the trail we reached the point of the waterfall, but alas the heat had completely dried up the water in the waterfall. π
The black boulder-ed dangerous rocks could be seen all around which would have been the bed for the water flow. Had the water been gushing through, it would have been quite a sight.
Please bear caution with kids as there are not many barriers put which separates the waterfall and the entry point - it can be climbed down to.
In the vicinity, there are a lot of paddy fields and corn fields - farmers can be seen tendering them - their day starts as early as this.
Baneswar is a good picnic spot for family and bachelors. You can afford to spend a good amount of time here and be astounded by nature especially in the wee hours of the morning. Totally smitten!
They have made high-rise structures for one to enjoy the 360-degree view of the place. The place is maintained well, but lack of water has caused the place to dry up.
There are washrooms in there - so that is taken care of.
In all a calm place and can be explored.
