Food tasting event : Krustys Bistro , Kharadi - Pune

Krusty's food tasting invitation can never be turned down, and when I was contacted by Sijo John from Ideosphere for attending a food tasting - I couldn't have been happier. 😊

Krusty's has moved from the Kapila Matrix to World Trade Center in Kharadi EON park. It is located on the ground floor of the tower, tucked nicely in one corner.
The food here is highly inspired by the European cuisine and their belief in innovating with food is the one that breaks the monotony.

A similar charm as their old bistro has been maintained in this new one too.
The plush seating arrangement varies from the bright yellow American diner to the rustic wooden table chair setup to the lounge setup to the fancy cafe style seating. They have arranged to seat by their bar - but for some reason, the shelves seemed to be empty.
They do boost of an outdoor seating, which they would be expanding soon as informed by them. The outdoor space is for those perfect relaxed evenings with good food and the subtle breeze flowing through.The place can easily accommodate about 50 or more guests.
The most eye catchy part of the decor of the bistro is hands down the light decor - gorgeous. It has been brilliantly and tastefully done with the different type of light fixtures in each of the sections of the bistro. There is a definite and prominent use of wood in their styling which gives the entire decor a classy feel. The alluring souvenir pieces have been chosen carefully, and they add value to the contemporary decor.
You can see part of the kitchen from the bistro, where the chefs are working tirelessly to put the best on your table.
The one liner witty posters put across the walls - add to the humor factor.

We started with the BLACK GRAPE AND RASPBERRY JUICE - quite a healthy start I would say - thick and Frutti Licious. Grapes, yeay!!
Next came in the SALAD WITH PASSION FRUIT DRESSING WITH THE GOODNESS OF SPINACH, WATERMELON, SLICED GRAPES, SLICED MANGOES AND CARAMELIZED WALNUTS - trust me, their salads would never fail you. With stunning flavors - the dressing is done with such perfectness, it totally builds your cravings for having more. This salad, I could gorge on, all day.

The DUET OF SMOKED CHICKEN, BACON CROQUETTES WITH HONEY MUSTARD MAYO DIP was a mystery in itself. Not wanting to indulge into bacon, I stayed away from the dish until Rohhan told us that - the croquettes were sans the bacon. It was hard to believe, but I took the leap of faith. And indeed it was minced chicken - man you wouldn't believe, the aroma was truly that of bacon and I could swear by anything. Detective Byomkesh Bakshi has been hired to unveil this raaz. πŸ˜‰

Two starters done and it was time for another drink, the POMEGRANATE ICED TEA - well made but a tad thicker consistency would have worked better. They had added pomegranate seeds in the drink - which I shamelessly was popping once my drink was over.

The stone baked thin crust pizza VEGETARIAN PIZZA WITH FETA CHEESE, CREAMED SPINACH and ONION COMPOTE served on a wooden pizza serving bat was impeccable - the crispy base perfectly baked, with smooth cheesy and spinach toppings - incredible. You would just keep yearning for more.

The SMOKED THREE PEPPER TORTINI WITH HAZELNUT BUTTER,  BALSAMIC ONION TORTELLINI WITH CHERRY TOMATOES AND SAGE BEURRE NOISETTE were tortinis in a bed of lusciously rich buttery gravy. The dish was a revelation - an elegant dish bursting with flavours.

The THREE CHEESE AND BUTTERED ONIONS STUFFED SEARED CHICKEN BREAST - tender, juicy and exemplary grilled chicken beauty - heavily flavoured - stuffed with three varieties of cheese - it tasted at its best with the combination of the balsamic sauce, sauteed exotic veggies with herb mashed potatoes. Balanced taste and flawless - as you would slice the chicken, cheese would just ooze out - oooooo!!

Krusty's have always a way to win their patrons with their desserts and my my we ended our food saga with the extraordinarily made COCONUT MOUSSE DACQUOISE WITH APRICOT FILLED CENTER, a pure sinful indulgence. One bite and you wouldn't stop - it melted smoothly in the mouth. Coconut and apricot make such a jaw dropping combination - wow-ed! And the taste lingered...

The MADAGASCAR VANILLA PANNA COTTA WITH THREE BERRY BLOOD ORANGE COULIS - a cooked and jellied cream. It was without a doubt an artistically designed dessert. The berry-Licious berry coulis was lip smacking - not too sweet, yet nice on the taste buds.Darn good.

A special mention of the manager Mr.Atish Rokde and his team, who served us un relentlessly with all their heart and soul, and Mr.Rohhan who took us through this beautiful food journey explaining the intricate details of the dishes being served.
